Attorney General of Maldives Mohamed Anil has revealed that investigations related to the judicial coup will continue, despite the State of Emergency in Maldives being lifted. Addressing the press conference held make the announcement, Attorney General Mohamed Anil noted that there are several issues to focus on, to secure national peace and sovereignty. AG Anil reflected on the events that unfolded, following the Supreme Court order of February 1.
The Attorney General highlighted that it was the continuation of events which undermined national security that warranted the need for a State of Emergency to be declared in the first place. Its sole purpose, according to the AG was ensuring peace and stability, particularly of the people.
