A Maldivian delegation departs to attend Risaalah Amman meeting

A two-member delegation from Maldives attended the 38th Risalah Amman held in Jordon. Maldives will be represented by Sheikh Hassan Thaufeeq and Sheikh Ishaq Mohamed Fulhu from Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

The meeting which commenced on Sunday was inaugurated with a detailed statement released by King Abdullah of Jordan.

The meeting is sought to declare what Islam is and what it is not, and what actions represent it and what actions do not. In addition, the series aims to clarify to the modern world the true nature of Islam and the nature of true Islam. The meeting would also stress the need to re-emphasise Islam's core values of compassion, mutual respect and tolerance.
