Chancellor of Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has visited Imam Mohamed bin Suood Islamic University of Saudi Arabia. The Chancellor met with the Rector of the University Professor Dr. Sulaiman Abalkhail, during the visit to the University.
The Chancellor requested to provide assistance to improve the standard of teaching Arabic Language at IUM and to send visiting professors to IUM to provide expert advices to improve the quality of education provided, during the meeting. Moreover, the Chancellor requested supervision of research projects conducted in IUM and asked to contribute to the academic activities of the university in addition to working collaboratively, in an academic perspective against extreme ideologies.
Meanwhile, Deputy Vice Chancellor of IUM Ali Rasheed visited King Suood Islamic University of Saudi Arabia and met with the Vice Rector of the University Professor Dr. Abdulla Bin Sulaiman. The Deputy Vice Chancellor gave a brief introduction about IUM including its vision, mission and objectives, during the meeting. Furthermore, discussions were held regarding signing of an agreement between two universities, conducting staff exchange program and on scholarship opportunities.
