PSM to establish Fishermen's Network in efforts to develop industry

Public Service Media (PSM) has decided to establish a fishermen's network connecting all fishermen across the country in efforts to develop the fisheries industry of Maldives.
The plan was made public at the ceremony held to sign PSM as the official media partner of the training programme on pole and line fishing for youth organised by Gemanafushi Masveringe Jamiyya.
Revealing the plan to develop a fishermen's network to connect all fishermen across the country, Deputy Managing Director of PSM Mohamed Ikram Abdul Latheef said the aim is to take Maldivian fisheries industry to another level, adding the network will be established before the end of the year. With the launch of the network, fishermen will be able to update their daily catch and other information, revealed Mohamed Ikram.
Noting that pole and line fishing of Maldivians is an exemplary fishing method in the world, Ikram said if content related to fisheries are broadcast internationally, it will interest tourists to experience fishing in Maldives.
PSM assured to showcase the revolutionary changes brought to the fisheries industry to the whole world by producing documentaries in English.
