First outlet of the South West Harbour Food Court, open for business

Housing Ministry has opened the first first outlet of the South West Harbour Food Court in capital, Male' city.

While one outlet has started its operations, Housing Minister Mohamed Muizzu in a tweet from his official handle revealed that all other outlets at the food court are also set to open soon.

A total of 26 food courts are being developed. The project, funded by the state budget costs USD 1.9 million.

Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure handed over the construction of these food courts to State Trading Organisation (STO) in 2016. STO revealed that the food courts are developed as no-smoking zones as these outlets would be utilized by families and children.

The new food courts would be more spacious and convenient for family gatherings, according to the ministry.
