Maldives Inland Revenue Authority has revealed that the government has received an income of approximately USD 77.4 million this April.
This amount is an increase of 1.6% compared against the figures projected for the month of April this year, according to MIRA. In addition, this amount is also an increase of about 2.8%, compared to March this year.
The increase has been attributed to the increase in total tourist arrival, and increase in revenue from Tourism Goods and Services Tax TGST and Green Tax, as per information revealed by MIRA. TGST has become the largest contributor, making up 64%of the total income.
