Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has signed the harbour development of three islands. The agreements of the projects were signed by Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and CEO of MTCC Ibrahim Ziyath.
At a ceremony held, Housing Ministry contracted MTCC to develop a harbour in Himandhoo, a breakwater in Rasdhoo of Alifu Alifu atoll and to expand the harbour in Maradhoo of Addu city.
The harbour of Himandhoo is developed at a cost of USD 1.67 million and funded from the state budget, according to Housing Ministry. MTCC is contracted to complete the project within eight months. Meanwhile, the expansion of the harbour of Maradhoo would cost USD 1.16 million from the state budget and should be completed within eight months, according to the contract. Furthermore, the breakwater of Rasdhoo would be developed at a cost USD 638,946 and would also be funded from the state budget and should be completed within three months.
The harbour development projects are conducted to ease the transportation between the islands, the Housing Minister said speaking at the signing ceremony.
