Heavy showers and thunderstorms to be experienced in the next 24 hours

Maldives Meteorological Service forecasts, scattered rain with few heavy showers and thunderstorms across the country in the next 24 hours.

Surface winds will vary between south / south-westerly at 10 to 20 miles per hour in central atolls and 5 to 15 miles per hour elsewhere, according to the Meteorological Service.

However, the Meteorological Service forecasts that winds may gust 40 miles per hour during showers. Maldives Meteorological Service revealed, seas are expected to be moderate becoming rough during showers in the central and becoming moderate during showers elsewhere.

Furthermore, Maldives Meteorological Service has also issued a yellow alert between Meemu and Addu atoll.
