Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated it will begin tarring road networks and the runway of Funadhoo Airport in Shaviyani Atoll in July.
As part of the 3.3 kilometre road development project of Funadhoo, the roads will be constructed with pavements and water drainage facilities, according to MTCC. In this regard, laying tar and installing lights on the roads will be completed by August.
While the road development and airport development project are currently underway in Funadhoo, MTCC is also conducting the installation of revetments in the newly reclaimed area of the island.
