MFDA urges to avoid use of antibiotics without medical instructions

Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has urged to avoid the use of antibiotics without medical instruction.
Director of MFDA Aishath Jaleela urged to refrain from such careless and unhealthy behaviours, at a programme aired on PSM News calling on all individuals to be responsible at a time when cases of flu and influenza are increasing in the country.
Meanwhile, Medical Officer of Health Protection Authority (HPA) Fathimath Nazla revealed cases of dengue, cold, influenza and flu have increased and advised to undergo vaccination. 9,666 patients were found positive to influenza, according to statistics of HPA.
The health institutions and relevant authorities have urged the public to receive medical assistance if symptoms are found and to avoid public gatherings.
