President appoints Junaid as Commissioner General of Customs

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Mohamed Junaid as the Commissioner General of Customs.
President Abdulla Yameen presented the letter of appointment to Mohamed Junaid during a ceremony held at the President's Office. The new Commissioner General of Customs took the oath of service before Chief Judge of High Court Abdulla Didi.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, who was replaced as Commissioner General of Customs by Mohamed Junaid, as the Trade Representative of Maldives to Melbourne, Australia. Junaid was appointed to the same position in 2015 but was removed from his post five months later. He later served as the CEO of Maldives Ports Limited, which he resigned earlier last year.
