Ministry of Economic Development has held discussed with Bank Negara Malaysia about expanding small and medium sized enterprise in Maldives.
The discussions were held during the recent visit of a team from Ministry of Economic Development led by Registrar of Companies Mariyam Visam. During the meeting, SME bank of Malaysia and the Economic Ministry widely discussed about the strategies the bank use to help small and medium business to further enhance their business. Moreover, SME Malaysia delivered information about the business models useful for Maldives.
The government of Maldives has been providing financial and technical support for the entrepreneurs that are eager to start and run businesses. Under the efforts, the government has initiated a loan programme in 2015 for small and medium sized enterprises and the GetSet start-up loan programme.
