HPA notes a decrease in the number of influenza cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA) states the number influenza cases reported to healthcare facilities has decreased in the past week.
6249 cases of common cold were reported last week, according to a statement issued by the authority.
HPA notes that this is the amount of common colds reported during a week, before the spread of influenza. Moreover, HPA noted the number of samples taken to be tested for influenza also have been decreased.
In this regard, while 86 out of 151 samples taken in a week tested positive for influenza during the month of May, only 11 samples out of 32 samples tested positive for influenza, last week.
HPA, however, advises caution, although the spread of the virus has been contained.
