Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated 61% of the sewerage project conducted in Maradhoo, Maradhoo Feydhoo, and Feydhoo of Addu City has been completed. MTCC said 38 kilometres of sewerage network will be developed in the adjoined islands, as a part of the project.
MTCC stated the project will cost more than USD 8 million and is funded by the OPEC Fund for International Development (OPID). Moreover, the project will be completed by the end of August, according to MTCC.
Furthermore, Maldives Water and Sewerage company (MWSC), and Sierra Construction Limited of Sri Lanka is also developing sewerage systems in Addu City, the second largest city in Maldives.
