24,000 youths have the right to vote: Elections Commission

The Voters Registry has shown that 24,000 youths will have the right to vote of the first time in the upcoming presidential election held on September 23, according to the voters list released by the Election Commission of Maldives.
In this regard, a total of 183,263 people will have the right to vote in the upcoming election. A momentary voters list was released by the election commission on June 10 and the final list has not yet been released. Complaints about the voters list will be taken into consideration till June 20, according to election commission.
A total of 165,239 people had the right to vote, including 60,000 youths voted for the first time, in the presidential election held in 2013.
