President inaugurates the harbour and clean drinking water services in Guraidhoo

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has arrived in Guraidhoo as part of his visit to the Malé Atoll islands of Thulusdhoo, Maafushi and Guraidhoo. Upon arrival, the President was warmly welcomed by the island's community.
As part of his visit, the President inaugurated the harbour and services for clean drinking water in the Island. The harbour is 800 feet long and 450 feet wide. The drinking water supply network inaugurated in Guraidhoo Island uses 3 plants of 30 tonnes, to produce 60 tonnes of water per day.
Maldives has the capacity to contend with other countries, even though it is geographically small in size, President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom assured addressing the function held in Guraidhoo. The President expressed it is an achievement for a country like Maldives which has less natural resources, to have augmented GDP per capita within the past four years.
In this regard, the President highlighted the biggest infrastructure projects carried out in the country which has paved way for many job opportunities. He also noted plans of other developmental projects.
Moreover, noting that others would not come to change the living standards of Maldives, President urged to cooperate with the government in its projects for the benefit of the society.
During the visit, President was accompanied by cabinet ministers, parliamentarians and other government officials.
