Election Commission of Maldives has revealed 477 ballot boxes will be placed for the upcoming presidential election.
Speaking at a press conference, President of Election Commission Ahmed Shareef stated 85% of the administrative works regarding the election has been completed. The final amount of ballot boxes will be placed after registration process has been completed. The registration will be open for 24 days starting from July 17.
According to Election Commission, 54 boxes will be placed in Male' and Hulhumale', 74 boxes will be placed for residents of other islands living in Male' and Hulhumale', 24 boxes will be kept in 24 resorts, 4 boxes will be kept in jails, 7 boxes will be kept in industrial islands and 302 ballet boxes will be kept in other islands of Maldives.
Moreover, over 4,000 officials will be active during the presidential election, according to head of the electoral body.
