Maldives Broadcasting Commission has fined two re-broadcasters of Thoddoo in Alifu Alifu Atoll for illegal re-broadcasting. The two re-broadcasters that were fined are Bright Club and Sosun Club of Thoddu.
Bright Club and Sosun Club were providing cable television services without a valid license, according to a statement released by the broadcasting commission. Therefore, Bright Club was fined USD 72,000, while Sosun Club was fined USD 64,000.
The fines have to paid within a period of 30 days, according to the commission.
