Government to establish sewerage facilities in Mathiveri, fresh water supply facilities in Nilandhoo

Government of Maldives has contracted two socially beneficial projects to Sri Lankan-based Edward and Christie Private Limited.
In this regard, Ministry of Environment and Energy contracted Edward and Christie to establish sewerage facilities in Mathiveri of Alifu Alifu Atoll and fresh water supply facilities in Nilandhoo of Faafu Atoll. The agreement was signed by Minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim and Managing Director of Edward and Christie Christie Arawwala.
Efforts are underway to commence the project as soon as possible, Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim stated speaking at the ceremony.
The materials and equipment needed by Edward and Christie to conduct the project will be provided by State Trading Organisation (STO). Both projects must be completed within 12 months, according to the agreement.
