Religious scholars express support for PPM's running mate in the upcoming presidential election

Well-known religious scholars in Maldives has requested the public to vote for President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and his running mate Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed in the upcoming presidential election. In a press conference held after the appointment of Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed as the running mate of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, religious scholars urged the public to vote for the president and his running mate.
Various religious scholars participated in the conference highlighted the reasons why they have the full trust in the president and his running mate. Speaking in the conference, Senior Policy Executive of Ministry of Islamic Affairs Asadulla Shafi Ahmed stated appointing a religious advocate such as Dr. Mohamed Shaheem as a running mate shows the efforts of President Yameen in prioritising Islamic values and upholding religious principles.
In the conference, the religious scholars of the Maldives showed their gratitude to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom for appointing Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed as his running mate in the upcoming presidential election.
