Ballot boxes to be placed in Singapore and New Delhi

Elections Commission of Maldives has decided to place ballot boxes in Singapore and New Delhi.
Elections commission previously revealed ballot boxes will be kept in Trivandrum, Colombo, Kuala Lumpur and London and has opened re-registration opportunity for locals residing in those countries. Locals residing in foreign countries where ballot boxes are placed will have the opportunity to re-register every day except on Saturday and Sunday, according to the commission. Moreover, the electoral body revealed one must re-register for the upcoming election even if they voted in the same country in another election.
Meanwhile, the commission has opened opportunity to re-register to vote in an island other than the island a citizen is registered. In this regard, the commission has given until August 11 to register at preferred ballot boxes, if different from registered islands.
