Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) expects to complete the project to develop the museum park in Thinadhoo of Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll by the end of the month.
MTCC is carrying out the construction of the multipurpose building and the fountain in the museum as part of the project. Most of the construction has now been completed with finishing works in progress, according to MTCC.
Furthermore, MTCC revealed the date of completion was pushed back to meet the changes brought to the building. The multipurpose building developed to a unique concept will consist of a museum, a sports complex, an auditorium, a library, a learning centre and a meeting hall. The museum park will also be developed with a fountain and play areas for kids.
While the landscaping of the park has been completed by Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC), under the supervision of Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure.
The project, which was launched in 2015, costs about USD 1.3 million and was funded from the state budget. Thinadhoo has a population of over 4,500 people.
