Pakistani Chief of Naval Staff calls on President

Chief of Naval Staff of Pakistan Admiral Zafar Mahmoud Abbasi has called on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. During the call held at the President's Office, President Abdulla Yameen welcomed the Admiral to Maldives and conveyed greetings and good wishes to the leaders of Pakistan.
Highlighting Pakistan's continued assistance and support for the development of the Maldives, President Yameen expressed hope and confidence that Maldives and Pakistan will continue working together on bilateral and international issues of common concern to further strengthen the close ties of friendship and cooperation that exist between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Admiral Mahmoud Abbasi thanked President Yameen for receiving him and extended greetings and good wishes to the president, the government and the people of the Maldives. In addition, he conveyed his well wished to the president for the upcoming presidential election. Noting that Pakistan and the Maldives are two brotherly Muslim nations, Admiral Mahmoud Abbasi expressed his confidence for continued strong relations between the two countries in the future.
The Chief of Naval Staff was accompanied by Chief of Defence Force of Maldives Major General Ahmed Shiyam and the Minister of State for Foreign Relations at the President's Office Mohamed Naseer.
