Non-Resident Zambian Ambassador presents credentials

Non-Resident Ambassador of Zambia to Maldives Judith K.K.Kan'goma-Kapijimpanga has presented her Letter of Credence to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. At a ceremony held at the President's Office, President Abdulla Yameen welcomed K.K.Kan'goma-Kapijimpanga to Maldives and congratulated her on the commencement of her term as the ambassador.
During the call, the president highlighted the strong bilateral ties that exist between the Maldives and Zambia. The president also noted the Maldives and Zambia share common views on an array of issues of mutual interest, specifically on issues related to the international arena, and highlighted importance of women empowerment.
The president also exchanged ideas with the ambassador, regarding matters where the Maldives and Zambia could share knowledge and experience. Moreover, the president and the ambassador discussed ways of further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and on exploring further areas of cooperation, including the tourism sector and human resource development.
The ambassador expressed sincere gratitude for receiving her as the ambassador to Maldives and conveyed greetings and well wishes from the President of Zambia to President Yameen and the Maldivian people. The ambassador also expressed hope and confidence to continue working closely with the Maldives and further consolidating the existing relations between the two countries.
Moreover, Non-Resident Ambassador of Zambia to Maldives Judith K.K.Kan'goma-Kapijimpanga paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim.
At a meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Mohamed Asim congratulated Ambassador Kapijimpanga on her appointment as the first Ambassador from Zambia to Maldives. Minister Asim and Ambassador Kapijimpanga exchanged views on enhancing cooperation between both countries and reflected on ways for strengthening the ties of both countries especially in the areas of trade, investment, tourism and other areas of mutual interest.
Ambassador Kapijimpanga assured the minister of her willingness and commitment to work with Maldives to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
