Elections Commission of Maldives has opened opportunity to submit applications to register as observers for the presidential election. Those interested can submit applications before August 14, according to elections commission.
The electoral body revealed the opportunity will be given for those who meet the eligible criteria. Applications of observers from political parties, non-governmental organisations and independent individuals must be submitted to elections commission, if they want to register for Male' city, and to election focal points if they want to register for another island.
Moreover, the commission noted the applications that are submitted without necessary documents will not be accepted and advised to submit all necessary documents to get registered as an election observer.
