President inaugurates Raaveribey Food Court

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has officially inaugurated Raaveribey Food Court.
The food court developed by Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure, in association with State Trading Organization (STO) was inaugurated at a theatrical play held at the Raaveribey Maizaan, on the South West Coast of Male' city. Housing ministry handed over the construction of the food court to STO in 2016. The project funded by the state budget costs over USD 2 million and consists of 26 food stalls. All the food stalls have been rented out to businesses and the food court was developed as no-smoking zones as the outlets would be utilised by families and children, according to housing ministry.
Speaking at the ceremony held to inaugurate the food court, Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu stated the harbour area was abandoned previously, adding the food court developed has made the area more lively and beneficial to the public. President Yameen not only focuses on concrete development, rather prioritises environment, social and economic development while conducting projects, assured housing minister.
During the function, President Yameen visited the food stalls accompanied by cabinet ministers, parliamentarians and government officials. The Raaveribey Food Court was developed as part of the Male' redevelopment plan to provide social spaces in the capital and was developed in an area of 30,000 square feet. In this regard, as part of the Male' redevelopment plan, spacious public spaces such as parks have been developed by the administration.
