Bund wall construction begun in land for Faresmaathodaa airport

Gulf Cobla Tennssor Maldives has commenced bund wall construction as part of the airport development project initiated in Faresmaathodaa of Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll. The government of Maldives contracted Gulf Cobla to complete the land reclamation and land protection of the island within 45 days.
The machinery and equipment needed for the project was provided by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
The airport developed in Faresmaathodaa will consist of a 1.2 kilometre long runway, an apron and a passenger terminal, upon completion of the project.
Currently, there are two airports in operation in Gaafu Alifu Atoll and Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll. The government has initiated projects to develop further 2 airports in the region, one at Maavaarulu and the other at Faresmaathodaa.
