MACL concludes constructing seaplane hangar in VIA

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has concluded the construction of the seaplane hangar built for line maintenance and heavy maintenance of seaplanes in Velana International Airport (VIA).
Efforts are currently underway by Maldives Civil Aviation Authority to assess and compile an assessment of the hangar which will be in operation upon the conclusion of the assessment, according to MACL.
The seaplane terminal project costs over USD 40 million. A fuel farm to accommodate 45 million litres of fuel and a cargo facility with a capacity of 80,000 tonnes will be established as part of the project contracted to Chinese Beijing Urban Construction Group.
The seaplane hangar construction was conducted as part of the one billion dollar expansion project of VIA.
