Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has revealed the restaurant outlets on the waterfront developed at Velana International Airport (VIA) will be opened before the end of the month. The airport is a key infrastructure that supports the multi-billion-dollar tourism industry of Maldives.
This waterfront constructed as part of the airport expansion project is being developed as a two-storey building. In this regard, a ferry terminal to be used by passengers who utilise the domestic terminal will be developed in the ground floor, while the top floor is to be designated as a fast-food area.
The waterfront restaurant which is designed to incorporate famous fast-food franchise brands had faced various hurdles in development due to the hectic movement at VIA. Despite the hurdles, MACL has now begun final preparations to open the restaurant outlets at the waterfront.
The restaurant outlets will begin operating before the end of the month which also includes five famous fast food franchise outlets, according to MACL. In this regard, MACL revealed KFC, Pizza Hut, Secret Recipe, Costa Coffee and Harvest Market will be opened at the waterfront.
