Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has signed cooperation agreement with Tax Inspectors without Borders (TIWB) to attain technical assistance.
The agreement was signed by TIWB expert, Silvia Karelova and Commissioner General of Taxation of MIRA Yazeed Mohamed. This is the first time MIRA is seeking assistance from TIWB. As part of the agreement with MIRA, TIWB will assist to enhance the quality of tax auditors and work to solve major issues faced to MIRA.
Tax Inspectors without Borders (TIWB) is a joint initiative of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) supporting countries in building tax audit capacity. The TIWB Programmes complement the broader efforts of the international community to strengthen co-operation on tax matters and contribute to the domestic resource mobilisation efforts of developing countries.
