Opposition coalition is divided: Shaheem

Running mate of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed reveals the opposition coalition is divided in attempts to bring former President Mohamed Nasheed back to power.
Addressing the citizens of Kalaidhoo in Laamu atoll, the running mate of the ruling party said several doubts and differences are seen within the coalition. In this regard, Dr. Shaheem said the main aim of the opposition coalition is to bring former President Nasheed, who is serving a 13 year jail sentence on terrorism charges, back to power. The power struggle within the opposition coalition and voiced concern of instability in the country, if the opposition coalition presidential candidate comes to power, noted Shaheem.
Furthermore, during the gathering, Shaheem assured Islamic principles and values will be continued to be prioritised, if President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom secures a second term in office. Reflecting back on the past five years and the development brought to the country, Shaheem urged to support the president to continue further social and economic enhancement in the country.
