Running mate of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has stated citizens must have the courage to conclude internal matters of the country. Maldives must be defended from individuals who impede the development brought to the country, the running mate of the ruling party said addressing the ceremony held at Maabaidhoo, as part of his campaigning efforts in Laamu Atoll.
Noting there are people who are unhappy with the rapid progress of the country, Dr. Shaheem expressed Maldivians must refrain from engaging in such vicious acts which could destroy the nation. Moreover, thanking the citizens of the island for the warm hospitality, Shaheem said visiting islands and meeting the people renew his hope for the country. Shaheem reiterated President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom will secure a second term in office with collective votes from the opposition parties as well.
During the campaign trips, the running mate held door-to-door visits and inquired about the needs and the visions of the residents for the future.
