Japanese language teaching to begin in schools

Ministry of Education has revealed discussions are underway to teach Japanese language to primary and secondary grades.
Speaking at a ceremony held to hand over books by The Nippon Foundation of Japanese to Hiriya School, Minister of State for Education Dr. Abdulla Nazeer stated Japan always assists Maldives in the education sector, adding many volunteers of Japan works all across Maldives. State Minister Dr. Abdulla Nazeer expressed hope to begin teaching Japanese language in schools in the near future.
Meanwhile, Japanese Ambassador in Maldives Kazumi Endo noted the close relations between Maldives and Japan highlighting it has been 50 years since establishment of relations. The Nippon Foundation aims to achieve a society in which all people support one another.
This requires new public-private sector and private-private sector frameworks that transcend the conventional perspectives of citizens, companies, NGOs, governments, and international organizations.
