President sends message of condolence to China

In the message, President Yameen said he was deeply distressed to learn about Typhoon Mangkhut that hit parts of China as well as the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau, resulting in the loss of lives, injuring others and causing extensive damage to homes and property. At this time of national grief, the president said the government and the people of Maldives convey heartfelt sympathies to the government and the friendly people of China, particularly those directly affected by the tragedy.

President Yameen further expressed firm solidarity with the people of China during this difficult hour and commend the tenacity in the face of such tragedy. The president also expressed earnest wishes for speedy and successful recovery efforts and conveyed sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.
