Transparency Maldives declares elections fairly and peaceful

Transparency Maldives has revealed the presidential election 2018 was conducted fairly and peacefully.

In a press conference held by Transparency Maldives, Senior Project Manager for Human Rights Ahmed Tholal stated over 85% of the voter population cast their votes in the presidential election adding it shows the awareness among the population.

Advocacy and Communications Manager of Transparency Maldives Aiman Rasheed noted even though major problems were not comprehended; there were few administrative issues related to the election. Transparency Maldives assured efforts will be made to solve these issues in upcoming elections.

Over 400 observers from Transparency Maldives were active in 20 atolls and in Sri Lanka during the election proceedings.
