Former President Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has congratulated President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
In a tweet, the former president congratulated Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and his running mate Faisal Naseem together with the leaders of the joint opposition for the clear victory in the Presidential Elections 2018.
Ibrahim Mohamed Solih won an overwhelming majority with 134,616 votes which is a lead of 38,484 votes over the incumbent president and Presidential Candidate of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, who won 96,132 votes, according to interim results published by Elections Commission of Maldives.
