PPM to hold party congress on September 28

Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has decided to hold a party congress on September 28.

PPM said the party council has decided to hold a special congress meeting of the party in accordance with the party charter. The congress will be held on September 28 and 29 in Male' City, according to PPM.

While PPM has announced to hold their congress, supporters of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom have been trying to obstruct the congress saying the current leadership took over the party illegally.
