Elections Commission of Maldives has revealed Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has requested to announce the final results on the last date specified in the constitution.
Speaking to PSM News, President of Elections Commission Ahmed Shareef refuted rumours saying PPM requested to delay announcing the final results of the election. PPM highlighted some issues related to election which were identified by the party, Shareef said assuring the results will be announced within the time frame set in the constitution. Even though Shareef revealed PPM has come forward with some issues regarding the election, he did not mention any further details.
The final results must be announced seven days after the provisional results, according to the Elections Act. The electoral body of Maldives announced the final results will be announced before September 30.
