President of Elections Commission Ahmed Shareef has refuted the rumours spread in social media, stating the institution exerted efforts to manoeuvre the result of presidential election.
Speaking to PSM News, President of Elections Commission refuted all such rumours in the wake of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) urging the electoral body to clear all doubts. Ahmed Shareef stated such rumours are spread in social media to defame the credibility of the commission assuring the election was transparent and conducted according to all relevant laws.
Moreover, noting all procedures of the election were conducted peacefully, Shareef expressed it was agreed by all international observers as well. Highlighting all complaints are addressed via the Complaints Bureau, he said the choice to proceed to the judiciary is open for everyone unhappy about the answers given by Elections Commission.
