Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has appointed Ambassador of Maldives to Sri Lanka Mohamed Hussain Shareef as its secretary general.
Mohamed Hussain Shareef was appointed to the post following the appointment of former Secretary General Dr. Abdulla Khaleel to the council of the party. Mohamed Hussain Shareef was appointed to the secretary general unanimously in a council meeting.
A council member of the party cannot hold the post of the secretary general of the party, according to the party charter.
