Former Minister of Defence Mohamed Nazim, who is serving a jail sentence, has travelled to Malaysia for medical treatment.
Maldives Correctional Service granted the former minister a period of 30 days to complete his medical treatment and arrive back to Maldives. The correctional service granted a medical leave under the direction of the medical board.
The former defence minister was jailed for 11 years after finding guilty for keeping a pistol at his residence against the laws and regulations of Maldives.
