Transition Chairman reveals transition procedure is conducted smoothly

Chairman of Transition Abdulla Shahid has revealed the procedure of transition is conducted smoothly.

Speaking at a press conference, the chairman of transition said meetings have been held with 9 ministries so far. In this regard, the chairman noted with regret no ministers attended the meetings, adding civil servants attended the meetings but have been very cooperative.

Noting the outgoing administration has no legal authority to conduct official communications of any regard during the transition period, Abdulla Shahid expressed the current administration has been conducting such acts without any legal authority.

Furthermore, Shahid said importance is given to continue the services on the first day of the new government without any delay. Maldives is not very familiar with a transition period and some difficulties were experienced from some ministries, according to Shahid. However, he revealed all the obstacles were dealt with smoothly, highlighting the transition committee is receiving cooperation from all the ministries.

Meanwhile, Director of Transition Ahmed Latheef expressed the support extended by the ministries during the transition period.
