Housing Ministry to sell 400 land plots from Hulhumale' Phase II

Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure has opened opportunity for residents of Male' City to apply for land plots from Hulhumale' Phase II.

The most important policy in President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom's manifesto is to provide affordable housing to all Maldivians, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu noted speaking at a press conference. Highlighting the past administrations failed to provide solutions for the housing issues, Housing Minister Muizzu said President Yameen exerted major efforts to solve the housing issues faced. Speaking in this regard, the housing minister said President Yameen has decided to sell land plots for residents of Male' from the phase two of the housing development project.

Furthermore, Minister Muizzu stated application forms will be sold to interested individuals starting from 1630 hours today. While the administration has decided to sell 400 land plots of 1,000 square feet, with each square foot costing USD 26, the housing ministry has arranged easier means of payment for the land plots.

Residents aged 18 years and above, who does not have a registered land plot can apply, according to the ministry.
