New government would reinstate peace in the country: President-Elect

President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has vowed to work together towards making Maldives a peaceful place, on assumption of office.

Taking to twitter to express concern about the recent surge in violent crimes in some regions of the country, the president-elect attributed the violence to the fact that matters have gone off-course. He vowed the new government would fix these issues and reinstate peace in the country.

Maldives Police Service has warned that strict action would be taken against perpetrators of violent crimes across the country. The institution noted no one would be given the opportunity to carry out violent crimes to portray Maldives as a dangerous place.
