Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has condemned threatening its members and their families who are actively engaging in the political arena of the country.
In a statement, PPM stated the number of threats its members and their families are facing have increased, adding a group of people are continuously working to defame the members. PPM also noted social media is being used as a tool to psychologically weaken its members during such a hectic political period in the country.
Noting that Maldives consists of a society which is well-educated and aware compared to the regional countries, PPM said those actions are unacceptable in the society. On conclusion, PPM called to immediately stop all such actions and to respect everyone despite their political differences.
