Supreme Court of Maldives has concluded all hearings of the 8 cases submitted regarding the validity of the membership of parliamentarians. The Supreme Court concluded the hearings of Parliamentarians Abdullah Sinan, Abdullah Ahmed, Ilham Ahmed, Saudhullah Hilmy, Mohamed Musthafa, Ali Shah, Mohamed Abdulla and Hussain Shahudhee. However, the Supreme Court has not revealed when a verdict would be announced.

Initially, Elections Commission of Maldives dismissed 12 parliamentarians from their seats. However, Supreme Court has overturned the decision and reinstated 4 parliamentarians. Following the Supreme Court verdict, Parliamentarians Mohamed Ameeth, Saudh Hussain, Mohamed Waheed Ibrahim and Abdul Latheef have regained their seats.

The Elections Commission dismissed 12 parliamentarians following a Supreme Court verdict ordering any parliamentarian who changes their political party or if a party removes them, which will automatically cause the removal of them from parliament.

Trials for all 12 disputed parliamentarians were carried out separately.
