Transparency Maldives (TM) has stated preparations are underway to share with the incoming government an agenda which has been formulated by the organisation regarding prevention of corruption and establishment of good governance. The 12-point agenda is based on recommendations made in reference to major issues that surfaced during the past five years in regard to strengthening democracy, promoting integrity and upholding human rights, according to TM.

Tholal stressed it was vital to ensure that people, unblemished from corruption are appointed as members of independent institutions to restore the public's faith in the system. He urged the incoming government to take into account, a person's integrity in formulating the new government and in appointing people to position. He said addressed the importance of ensuring equal representation of men and women in decision-making.
