Minister of Defence and National Security Adam Shareef Umar has stated foreign powers are working endlessly to intervene in the internal matters of Islamic countries.
Speaking at the official gathering held to celebrate Victory Day, Defence Minister Adam Shareef stated, the strategy used by such countries are well-planned as they target to influence ideologies. Speaking in this regard, the defence minister said foreigners are interested in the country as few Maldivians who crave for power give them cooperation, adding the government exerts major efforts to eliminate the threats and to protect Maldives.
Moreover, Minister Adam Shareef highlighted the amount of power influencing is increasing in Maldives which has increased the corruption in the country. The minister advised all military personnel to refrain from engaging in such activities.
Furthermore, addressing the ceremony, Brigadier General Zakariyya Mansoor expressed despite November 3 being the most dangerous day Maldives have experienced in the recent history, no one has still taken responsibility for masterminding the attack.
