Preparations underway to operate flights between Gan and Johannesburg

Gan International Airport has revealed latest preparations to commence operations between Johannesburg and Addu City will conclude on November 20.

Speaking to PSM News, Managing Director of Gan International Airport Mohamed Latheef said the first flight between Johannesburg and Addu City will be operated on November 24. Efforts are underway to recruit staff, the managing director further noted, adding announcements have been made for job openings.

Noting the Gan International Airport is developed to cater the largest aircraft in operation, Latheef expressed the aim is to increase the bed-capacity of Addu and boost the tourism sector of the city.

Moreover, Latheef stated beginning flight operations between Johannesburg and Addu will not only benefit tourism sector, but benefit the whole economic spectrum in the area. He highlighted the commencement of FlyMe operations, by Villa Air, will also further enhance the operations of the airport.
