Mohamed Hussain Shareef resigns from ambassadorship

Ambassador of Maldives to Sri Lanka Mohamed Hussain Shareef has resigned from ambassadorship.

Speaking to PSM News, Mohamed Hussain Shareef revealed official documents has now been sent to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, adding he will officially be leaving duty on November 16. He has also given the ambassador card to Sri Lankan authorities.

Moreover, the ambassador further revealed there is no particular reason for his resignation. Answering to several questions, Hussain Shareef noted even though he resigned from the ambassadorship, he will still continue his duties as the Secretary General of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).

Mohamed Hussain Shareef previously served as Minister at President's Office during the current presidential term. Before he was appointed as the Ambassador to Sri Lanka, he served as the Ambassador to Japan.
